About this attraction

A prominent historical and cultural site in downtown Accra dedicated to Ghana's founding father and first president, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Set on the former colonial polo grounds where Nkrumah declared independence on 6th March 1957, the five-acre park houses his mausoleum, a museum, and is a major symbol of Pan-Africanism and liberation.
